 Uses: It is an effective prophylaxis against recurrent calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis, because it effectively prevents recurrent calcium oxalate stones. Thus it is widely used in renal stones. It is more effective than potassium citrate in inhibiting the crystallisation of uric acid and calcium oxalate in urine. Used as a source for magnesium and potassium in food for particular nutritional uses, food supplements and foods intended for the general population.
